What are the accomplishments of Guilherme Paulus?

Guilherme Paulus is a successful businessman in Brazil. He is the co-founder of the largest tour company in Brazil known as CVC. He is also the founder and chairman of the largest chain of hotels in Brazil known as GJP Hotels and Resorts. Through these two establishments, Paulus has offered employment opportunities to thousands of young Brazilians. In the 19 hotels and resorts owned by GJP, he has employees over 3,000 workers. Through his CVC hotel, he has created employment for many other workers. It is accomplishments like these that have put him on the list of the most successful entrepreneurs in Brazil. Apart from that, he has also been assigned responsibilities in various organizations that promote tourism in Brazil.

Early-life

About Guilherme Paulus was born in 1949 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He went to university and took a degree in business management. He later got an internship at IBM at the age of 20 years. That’s when he learned how to manage a business that had a global presence. He talked to the clients at IBM who opened up his mind about the opportunities that were available out there.

Career

The life of Guilherme Paulus took a new twist in 1972 when he met Carlos Vicente, a local government official at the time. Vicente was looking for a partner with whom he would start a tour company that would promote tourism in Brazil. Paulus was there to take this opportunity with open arms. At the age of 24 years, he did not have the capital and needed to start such a venture. He was, however, willing to play a role in the development of this unique business idea.

In the same year, CVC was lunch and opened two stores. Guilherme Paulus was the responsibility for the daily operations of the company while Carlos Vicente would provide the capital needed. Four years later, Carlos Vicente abandoned this business leaving Guilherme Paulus as the only owner. Despite being left alone, Paulus did not give up. He continued pressing with the idea that they had initially until he accomplished his ultimate goal of making it a leading company in the region.
